Stephen F. Motta-Retired

NOTE: Stephen Motta retired on March 25, 2022. After graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics from Fairfield University in 1979, Stephen Motta worked as a computer programmer for 20 years at IBM. He then retired from IBM and enrolled in law school, earning a JD from North Carolina Central School of Law in 2002.
Mr. Motta has extensive experience in court, as he has worked for over eight years as a prosecutor in Moore, Randolph, and Montgomery counties (from 2002-2005), and Orange and Chatham counties (from 2005-2010) . He has tried hundreds of cases in both District and Superior courts, with cases ranging from larceny, DWI, assaults, all the way to drug trafficking. For the past two years he has worked as a defense attorney, successfully defending clients in trials for DWI and in a jury trial for sexual battery, among others.
He has experience in dealing with clients with personal injury cases. Further, Mr. Motta has experience with immigration issues, as he has successfully obtained immigration bonds for scores of clients detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”).
